ഇന്ത്യ വല്ലാതെ തിളങ്ങി നിന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു കാലം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു... ആ തിളക്കത്തിന്റെ ഫുള്-പേജ് പരസ്യങ്ങള് കൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ പത്രങ്ങള് നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ഒരു കാലം. അന്നു സായ്നാഥിനെ പോലെ കുറച്ചു പേര്‍ ആന്ധ്രയിലും വിദര്‍ഭയിലും വയനാട്ടിലും പോയി കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടെഴുതിയ ഒരുപാട് ലേഖനങ്ങളും, അതു പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കാന്‍ ‘ഹിന്ദു’വിനെ പോലെ ഒരു പത്രവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതു കൊണ്ട് തിളങ്ങി കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ഇന്ത്യയില് കര്ഷകര് കൂട്ടത്തോടെ ജീവനോടുക്കുകയാണെന്ന സത്യം കുറച്ചു പേരെങ്കിലും മനസ്സിലാക്കി. അങ്ങനെയുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു മഗ്സാസെ അവാര്‍ഡ് ലഭിച്ചതു വളരെ അഭിമാനാര്‍ഹവും അഭിനന്ദനാര്‍ഹവും ആയ ഒരു കാര്യം ആണ്.വയനാട്ടില് കര്ഷകര് തൂങ്ങി ചാവുമ്പോഴും കൊക്കകോള ഊറ്റിയെടുക്കുന്ന വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ബക്കറ്റ് കണക്കെടുത്ത് “ആഗോളവത്കരണ വിരുദ്ധത” തെളിയിച്ചവരെയാണല്ലോ നമ്മുക്ക് പരിചയം!. ഇന്നും, ഇതു വരെ കാണാത്ത പകര്‍ച്ചപനിയുടെ പിടിയില് മധ്യകേരളം വലയുന്നതും, മാലിന്യം കുമിഞ്ഞു കൂടി എതു നേരവും പൊട്ടിത്തെറിക്കാവുന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലേയ്ക്കു നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്തം മഹാനഗരം എത്തി നില്‍ക്കുന്നതും, ചില്ലറ വ്യാപാരികളുടെ എറ്റവും അധികം സാന്ദ്രതയുള്ള കേരളത്തിലേയ്ക്കു റിലയന്‍സും വാള്-മാര്‍ട്ടും വരുമ്പോഴുണ്ടാവുന്ന സാമൂഹിക പ്രശ്നങ്ങളും ഒന്നും ഒരു വാര്‍ത്തയോ ഫീച്ചറോ ഒന്നും അല്ല. എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും ഫാരീസും, “കട്ടന് ചായയും”, “കോഴി ബിരിയാണിയും” ഒക്കെ തന്നെ മതി.

2. എന്താ Devagiri College-ല്‍ പഠിച്ചു എന്നു കരുതി വിമോചനസമരത്തെ വിമര്‍ശിക്കാന്‍ പറ്റത്തില്ലേ? ഈ ലോജിക്(?) വെച്ച് നമ്മള്‍ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ഥാപനത്തിനെതിരേ സമരം ചെയ്യാന്‍ പാടില്ലാത്തതാണല്ലോ? അപ്പോള്‍ ഗ്വാളിയോര്‍ റയോണ്‍സില്‍ നടത്തിയ സമര-കോലാഹലങ്ങളൊക്കെ ചേട്ടായി മറന്നു പോയോ??
